MISTAKEN IDENTITY

Cecil was in her third year when she met Cotney, a stranger in her area of residence. He offered everything on demand and yes, Cotney loved partying and so not a single day would pass without getting Cecil out for a dinner. According to Cecil, Cotney loved her to the point of giving away his life just to have her in his life and so she did(accepted to be in a relationship).This was after she complained that he was not born again, which he did(got born again) even without anyone’s preaching to him. Besides, what is so difficult for a man to do provided they gonna have what they intend to?

It’s Cotney’s birthday and so just as it happened for every special day, Cecil waited eagerly for the Party. This day turned out so different on realizing the arrangement of the table appeared more of a reckless date for survivors than a birthday party. Cecil, therefore, took a newspaper and seemed to be so deeply moved by what she was reading. It read, “Richkid dies in high-tech hospital international. “

Richkid was a man of impeccable character that everyone would admire. He once asked Cecil for a hand in marriage which she accepted before denying him five months later after so many stories were aired after his father’s death. Richkid had proven a remarkable increase in his wealth and people had started questioning the source of his wealth. Rumors were it that he gave his father’s life as a “living sacrifice” to his god’s, an act that awarded him a promotion. These rumors plus people’s opinions led to Cecil breaking up with Richkid. These were his words before he “gave up” with her,” Cecil, I appreciate your take over our relationship but Mark my words. If you get the love of your life, I would be glad if you let me know. Otherwise, I will be waiting for you. However long it may take, my heart will never grow impatient nor shall my love for you cease for setting my eyes on another face would I never wish to. It’s six months since Cecil and Richkid broke up. She had heard of his admission to the hospital but to her, it was less of her concern.

An email popped up on her phone and it was actually from Richkid. Cecil, in tears, lifted her eyes to realize Cotney had fainted. She took a look at his phone to realize he exactly had been reading the same email. He was rushed to the hospital and Cecil also went with him.

He was admitted and the following day she also paid a visit. She found him on the death bed and drew closer to the bedside. Cotney started it all frailly, “I’m so sorry Cecil, please forgive me. I’m the cause of everything. Richkid is the source of all that I have. I knew you as the only love birds that can never be set apart but decided to do it. He warned me severally but I couldn’t hear. LESSONS:

4. The fact that you have broken up with someone doesn’t mean you mean nothing to each other. You have a long way to go and you know what, it’s not over until it’s over.

5. Never should you love a person that you know less about

6. A person that has a genuine reason as to why they need you in their lives talks less and never keeps on arguing on the same but prays the more while the otherwise would talk too much and promise heaven but deliver hell

7. A believer can never be tied to a non-believer. Be careful, they may change to please you but later resume the real self

8. Financial providence is never a sign of love nor is it a promise of serenity. Be careful… Remember even a chicken is tricked by a number of grains to get it’s head off

9. True love is patient…. don’t be in a hurry, you ain’t competing with anyone in life
